Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

theclipbot ("we", "us") is a tool that turns long videos into short vertical clips and, if you choose, uploads approved clips to your YouTube channel. This policy explains what data we handle and why. Contact: contact@theclipbot.app. The service is operated by Piotr Reder, Spain.

1. Data we collect

2. How we use YouTube API Services

theclipbot uses YouTube API Services. If you connect your channel, we use the YouTube Data API only to: upload clips you approved to your channel, set their title and description, and post the comment you approved under your own upload. We request the scopes youtube.upload and youtube.force-ssl. We do not read your private videos, analytics, subscribers or messages, and we do not use YouTube data for advertising.

By connecting a channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

3. How long we keep it

4. Revoking access and deleting data

You can revoke theclipbot's access to your YouTube channel at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete all data we hold about you, email contact@theclipbot.app or send /delete to @theclipbot_bot; we delete it within 7 days.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services needed to run theclipbot: Telegram (messaging), Google/YouTube (uploads you approve), our server host Hetzner (Germany), and AI providers that process transcripts to propose clips. These providers act on our instructions.

6. Storage and security

Data is stored on a server in the EU. Secrets such as OAuth tokens are kept in restricted files on the server and are never shown in logs.

7. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, delete and export your data and to object to processing. Contact us at the address above. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

8. Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top.
